About the role
The role of Fitter Machinist is fast paced and highly varied, daily tasks are as directed by the Production Manager. The machinist focuses on setting up and operating machine tools to manufacture precise metal parts to the Davimac standard. The Fitter Machinist combines their machining skills with mechanical fitting to also assemble, install, maintain, and repair whole machinery and plant equipment.
Key responsibilities
Machine and Fit components into assemblies to high quality standards
Multitask within multi machine environment
Assist engineering team with new designs and appropriate feedbacks
Fitting tasks involve manual lifting
Other duties as directed by the Production Manager, People, Culture & Compliance Manager or Managing Director
Partake and assist in Company training and development
Ensure work is conducted in a safe manner

Relevant trade certification
Technical understanding
Strong team focus
Operate flexibly between work areas
Understand and apply inventory control
Work as part of a team
Perform work as per the job sheets
Pay close attention to detail
Competent in problems solving, team building, planning and decision making
Excellent communication skills
